Donations Sought For Victims Of Windmill Club Fire In Howell
A fire at two adjoining units on Wren Way in the Windmill Club in Howell left the families needing everything. Here's a way to help.

HOWELL, NJ — The call is out for donations to help two families on Wren Way who were displaced after a fire severely damaged their townhouses Feb. 7 at the Windmill Club.
But people in their community are trying to help.
Here is information how to donate clothing and gift cards for the families. They can be left off at the clubhouse at the Windmill Club, 1 Eagle Drive:

15 Wren Way
- 67-year-old male needs pants/jeans (34x36), socks, T-shirts (L) and fleeces (XL)
- 24-year-old male needs pants/jeans (30x32), socks, underwear (M), T-shirts (L), hoodies (L) and sneakers (11.5)
- They are also accepting gift cards from local businesses such as ShopRite, Kohls, Target, Lowes, Walmart, etc.

- Adult couple with a teenager is accepting gift cards to Shop Rite, Chick-fil-a, Taco Bell, and Target.
All donations can be dropped off at the Clubhouse in Windmill Club at 1 Eagle Drive.
Clothes should be in bag and labeled for 67-year-old or 24-year-old.
All gift cards must be labeled for 14 Wren Way or 15 Wren Way and put in the mail slot.
Victor Cook, director of the Howell Office of Emergency Management said Monday he believes that the residents were able to find temporary housing with family members. But he said the houses are not habitable. Cook has notified the Red Cross to reach out to the families.
The residents had evacuated the houses before police arrived and there were no casualties, according to a Howell Police Department Facebook post.
The Howell Township Police Communications center received a call at 5:47 a.m. Tuesday, reporting a fire in a residence at #14 Wren Way in the Windmill Club development, police said.
Smoke was visible from the roof of #14 and #15 Wren Way, police said in the update.
The fire damage was extensive to both townhomes.
Patrol officers on scene reported that all occupants safely got out of the houses before police arrival with no reported injuries. Multiple fire and emergency units responded and extinguished the fire.
