DWI Checkpoint Set For Howell

Motorists should be aware the Monmouth County DWI Task Force will have a sobriety checkpoint in Howell Friday night; Brielle on Saturday.

HOWELL, NJ — The Monmouth County DWI Task Force will once again be conducting two DWI checkpoints this coming weekend.

The first checkpoint will be Friday night, July 7, in Howell.

The checkpoint will run from 11 p.m. Friday to 3 a.m. Saturday morning. All northbound vehicles on Route 9 will be diverted into the Regal Plaza parking lot, authorities said.

The second checkpoint will be Saturday, July 8, in Brielle. The checkpoint will run from 10 p.m. Saturday to 2 a.m. on Sunday morning. All southbound vehicles on Route 71 will be diverted into the Brielle municipal lot.

During both checkpoints, officers of both local departments will work alongside Task Force members to detect if drivers are under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.
