DWI Checkpoint Set For Avon On Saturday
A sobriety check will take place in Avon on Saturday, Monmouth County DWI Task Force says.
HOWELL, NJ — The Monmouth County DWI Task Force were to conduct two checkpoints this weekend to continue its three goals even after the Labor Day weekend has passed: Education, deterrence and enforcement.
The Saturday checkpoint will be Sept. 9 from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. in Avon, on Route 71 (Main Street).
The first checkpoint was to be Friday, Sept. 8, from 11 p.m. to 3 a.m. Saturday in Howell. All vehicles on Route 9 north will be diverted into the Regal Plaza.

Officers from the local towns will work alongside Task Force personnel to check all drivers for impairment, said Chief Michael Schneider, Allenhurst, Monmouth County DWI Task Force Coordinator.
