Farmingdale Man and Wall Juvenile Charged with Stealing Landscaping Equipment from Former Employer

Wall Township police have arrested and charged two males in connection to a burglary and theft from a West Belmar business.

Two males have been arrested in connection with a burglary and theft that took place this past August, according to Wall Township Chief Robert L. Brice.

On August 15, 2014, the owner of a local business in the West Belmar section of Wall reported a burglary and theft of landscaping equipment valued in excess of $500.00. A former employee of Farmingdale and his friend were identified as suspects.

On September 30, 2014, Zachery Newman, 22, of Farmingdale was arrested and charged with 3rd degree burglary and theft. On October 3, 2014, a 17-year-old of Wall was also arrested for the incident and charged with 3rd degree burglary and theft.

Both Newman and the juvenile were processed and released, with a pending court date. Police declined to provide an arrest photograph at this time.

Detective Michael Steitz led the investigation that resulted in the arrest.

Despite these charges, every defendant is presumed innocent, unless and until found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, following a trial at which the defendant has all of the trial rights guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution and State law.
