Freehold Regional School Bus, Car Collide In Howell: Police

Students bound for Marlboro High School Friday morning were all uninjured, police said. Driver of other vehicle was brought to hospital.

HOWELL, NJ — An accident involving a school bus carrying high school students at about 7:30 a.m. Friday injured the driver of the other vehicle, police said.

Police said a Presidential school bus operating for the Freehold Regional High School District and another vehicle crashed at the intersection of Georgia Tavern Road and West Farms Road in Howell.

Police asked motorists avoid the area Friday morning while the scene was being investigated and cleared.

The bus was transporting students to Marlboro High School, police said.

One injury was reported for the driver of the other motor vehicle involved. That driver was transported to Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune by the Howell Police EMS with minor injuries - at least as far as police knew at the time, police said.

There were no reported injuries to the driver or students on the school bus at this time, police said.

The crash is being investigated, according to the news release by Detective Sgt. Peter Kuppler of the Howell Police Department.
