Here's Why Luke Was Shouted Out As A Howell Star Student
We all know students who excel in academics, arts or volunteer service. Here's one student who excels in lacrosse at Manalapan High School.

HOWELL, NJ — Star Students are found in classrooms, on concert and theater stages and at debate lecterns, and out in the community doing good things to make life better for all of us.
Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize Star Students, and we’re working to tell the stories of these outstanding kids to their neighbors.
This submission comes from Tammy who nominated her son Luke, of Howell.
Luke is a natural at lacrosse. Despite the pandemic interruption, he continued to excel in the sport at Manalapan High School and is now captain of the team - and off to college on a lacrosse scholarship, his mom says.
He is also a role model for younger players, she adds

How do you know the star local student?
Son
Why do you believe the star local student should be recognized?
Luke decided when he was a freshman at Manalapan High School to join a new lacrosse team that was just starting at the school. He had never played lacrosse before and wanted to be a part of the new team since they needed players. Not only did he make the team but he made varsity.
Before the first scrimmage he ever was going to play the world shut down. He didn’t let that stop him. He was outside practicing every day. His sophomore year he tried out again and made varsity. Now in his senior year not only did he make captain of the team, he is going to Reinhardt University with a scholarship for lacrosse. He really worked so hard and it shows!
What's one thing you want everyone to know about the star local student?
This kid sets the bar high and works so hard to achieve it. He also is helping to train and coach younger lacrosse teams. He is such a good role model and success story for them.
Congratulations on your achievements, and all of our best wishes to you in the future, Luke!
