Howell Power Outages Nearly Fully Restored
Howell says all but about 126 customers have power restored, down from 3,700 reported earlier on Monday.

HOWELL, NJ — The township reports that all but about 126 customers of JCP&L have had power restored.
Things were "back up and running," said Howell Office of Emergency Management Director Victor Cook Monday evening.
JCP&L had estimated about 11,000 customers were without power in Monmouth County after heavy storms overnight, including 3,700 without power in Howell earlier on Monday.

The outage area involved Aldrich Road west of Route 9 and the north side of Route 9 from The Villages down to the Jackson Mills Road area.
Intersections at Georgia Tavern, Casino, and Strickland were affected earlier Monday but Victor Cook of the Howell Office of Emergency Management said only one remained on generator power (at Georgia Tavern Road) as of 1 p.m., and that was back in normal operation by Monday evening.

JCP&L Spokesman Chris Hoenig said there were 11,000 customers without power in the entire county.
Crews were already removing a tree that hit a line in Howell early Monday afternoon.
The JCP&L outage map showed scattered outages in Holmdel and Hazlet, with Marlboro, Freehold and Howell hit hardest, JCP&L said earlier Monday.
Hoenig said although the map shows estimated restoration time as 2 p.m. Dec. 20, most customers will be restored well before then.
"We work from the largest outage to the smallest, so it's those single customer ones that are unfortunately last in line. But the vast majority get back well before then," he said.
