Howell L.E.A.D. Carnival Offers Fun, Food, Rides For Families
The event promotes efforts to fight drugs and more in the community.

HOWELL, NJ — Howell Township families are invited to the L.E.A.D. Fest Carnival for food, rides and fun, beginning Friday.
The carnival is hosted by L.E.A.D. (Law Enforcement Against Drugs & Violence), a nationwide nonprofit that works with communities to help students understand the dangers of drugs and violence, and will be held at 5361 Route 9 in Howell.
The hours for the carnival, which runs through July 7, are 5 p.m.-11 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 3 p.m.-11 p.m. on Saturday, Sunday and the July 4th holiday. Wristband sales and admission redemption ends one hour before closing each day.

"We’re thrilled to be hosting the L.E.A.D. Fest Carnival in Howell Township," said Nick DeMauro, CEO of L.E.A.D. "We look forward to bringing awareness to our evidence-based program while the attendees get to enjoy themselves at the carnival."
"It’s a very special event as the folks who attend will help us in furthering our efforts to teach children across the country why steering clear of drugs and violence is critical and bridge the gap between police officers and communities," he said.

L.E.A.D. provides services on the street and in the classroom as it brings law enforcement and communities closer together. The "In The Classroom" program is taught by more than 5,000 trained instructors in 45 states, who are serving more than 500,000 students in 2,500 school systems.
"L.E.A.D. has a proven-effective, law enforcement-focused anti-drug, anti-violence curriculum for K–12 students in the U.S.," the organization said. The 10-week program aims to educate kids on how they can make smart decisions without the involvement of drugs or violence.
