Howell Man Had Child Sexual Assault Images On His Electronics, Prosecutor Says

The investigation included authorities in Brick, Bay Head and Point Pleasant Beach, and tips are sought, the prosecutor's office said.

HOWELL, NJ — A Howell Township man has been charged with endangering the welfare of a child after authorities found multiple images of child sexual abuse on his electronic devices, the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office said Monday.

John T. Curley, 61, was arrested Sept. 24 following an investigation and the execution of multiple search warrants by Howell Township Police, Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago said.

The prosecutor's office did not say what prompted the investigation, which involved authorities in Brick, Bay Head, Point Pleasant Beach and at Monmouth University as well as the FBI.

Authorities also did not say how many images were found.

The investigation is continuing, and the prosecutor's office said anyone with information about Curley or his activities is urged to call Sgt. Shawn Murphy of the prosecutor's office at 800-533-7443 or Detective Daniel Bozza of the Howell Township Police Department at 732-938-4111.
