Howell Reorganization Meeting Will Be Virtual Due To COVID Spike

Just last week, Monmouth County logged new cases 3,661 between Monday and Thursday, with eight new COVID-related deaths.

HOWELL, NJ — Howell Township's reorganization meeting on Tuesday will be held virtually due to the current state of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Just last week, Monmouth County logged new cases 3,661 between Monday and Thursday, with eight new COVID-related deaths.

"The Reorganization/Regular Meeting originally scheduled to be held on January 4, 2022 at 7:00 PM in the Howell Township Municipal Building will instead be held remotely in light of the continuing Coronavirus pandemic," the township said in a statement.

During the meeting, a new deputy mayor will be appointed to serve for the period of one year.

Former councilman Thomas Russo was selected as deputy mayor last year. He resigned in November, citing changing "personal circumstances."

Republican Suzanne Brennan was sworn in as councilwoman to replace the seat left open by Russo. The newly appointed councilwoman ran last year against incumbent Theresa Berger.
