Howell Holiday Events: Tree Lighting, Pancake Breakfast, More
There will be a visit with Santa, Mrs. Claus and elf, as well as hot drinks, games and a petting zoo during the tree and menorah lighting.
HOWELL, NJ —Holiday season is here and Howell residents can look forward to festive events in the upcoming weeks.
The Christmas tree and menorah lighting ceremony will be on Dec. 7, from 6 to 8:30 p.m, at the Municipal Building, located at 4567 Route 9N.
The event is free, but the Township is asking people to donate wrapping paper and tape for the "Adopt a Family" holiday giveaway. If you would like to donate, email president@hhspat.org to be added to the signup list.

There will be a visit with Santa, Mrs. Claus and elf, as well as hot drinks, games and a petting zoo. Entertainment will be performed by Howell High School and Art Beins Karate.
Parking in the Howell Municipal Complex will be very limited. Shuttle buses will be available at the Howell Commons Shopping Plaza (closest to Old Navy). There is a rain date for Dec. 8.

Here is a list of some other holiday events in town:
Dec. 5 - Adelphia fire Company's pancake breakfast
6 a.m to noon
It includes all-you-can-eat pancakes, sausage, scrambled eggs, orange juice, coffee, tea and cocoa. Tickets are $10 for adults and $6 for children.
Dec. 12 - Ramtown Firehouse's pancake breakfast
8 to 11 a.m.
The Ramtown Firehouse is also organizing a pancake breakfast, during which Santa will show up and take photos with guests for free. Tickets are $8 for adults, $5 for children under 12 years and free for children under three years. For reservations contact Pete Realmuto at 973-420-0437.
Dec. 19 - Southard Fire's Breakfast With Santa
9 to 11 a.m.
Tickets are $8 for kids 3-12 and $10 for anyone 13 or over and include a breakfast buffet, firetruck rides and a chance to meet Santa.
Dec. 6 to 17 - Gingerbread House Decorating Contest
During normal business hours
Each participating department in Howell Township created a house that captures the essence of the holidays and entries will be on display at the municipal building. Residents can go see them and vote for their favorite.
Dec. 18 - Squankum Fire Company #1 Visit from Santa
The fire company will escort Santa by fire truck to any home within the Squankum Fire Company response area and will assist him in delivering gifts. Presents can be dropped off on Dec. 7 or 14. See more information here.
Dec. 4 and 5 - Wreath Sale Troop 13 & Pack 13
8 a.m to 4p.m or until sold out
Wreaths are $25 and crosses are $30. Scouts will be selling them on Main Street, Farmingdale, by Post Office and Shop and Bag.
Dec 5 - Pierce Memorial Presbyterian Church's Live Nativity
6 p.m.
The church will host an interactive live nativity, where children can participate and later pet the animals.
Until Dec. 3 —Letters to Santa
The Howell Township will be forwarding letters addressed to Santa. They should be postmarked until Dec. 3. For more information on how to send a letter, see this flyer.
