Howell 2021 BOE Election: No Surprises With Levine, Okerson, Malley Leading

HOWELL, NJ — Incumbents Jennifer Okerson and MaryRose Malley and newcomer Stephen M. Levine will likely fill the three open seats in the Howell Township Board of Education, according to unofficial results.

The three were running uncontested.

"It may appear that MaryRose Malley and I are running unopposed, but there is a write in campaign to end mask wearing in school (something BOE does not have the power to do)," Okerson wrote on social media.

So far, 30 out of 32 districts have reported in Howell.

Mail-in votes will still have to be counted and the Monmouth County Clerk will have to certify the results before they are official.

Howell Township Board Of Education:

  • Stephen M. Levine - 10,765
  • Jennifer Okerson -11,022
  • MaryRose Malley - 10,752
  • Write-in - 3,128

There was also one candidate on the ballot for the Freehold Regional Board of Education set representing Howell:

  • Peter J. Bruno - 12,413
  • Write-in - 281
