HOWELL, NJ — Wanting to throw a baseball bat at the tv or smash a glass against the wall is a feeling many of us are very familiar with.

In most scenarios that would neither be safe nor socially accepted but at the new rage room set to open on Saturday in Howell you'll be encouraged to do so.

Smashin City, which opened its first location in Toms River, will host a grand opening for their Howell location on Saturday, between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. There will be raffles and door prizes for the first 10 people who arrive. The location is at 4314 Route 9.

The rage room is a place "where you can collect your thoughts, project your hatred, rage onto the breakable items, and unleash an unrelenting wave of destruction," they explain on their website. "Or just have some fun with your friends breaking stuff with an extreme activity."

There is a wide array of options to choose from. For $42.99, for example, you'll get to smash 12 glass or dishware items, one small electronic and one medium item all by yourself. If you want to get together with a group of three to four people, the "fit of fury" package offers you 30 glass or dishware items and two electronic items (one large and one medium) to break for $102.99.

There are also date night packages and the option to bring your own breakable for an extra fee of $20. In fact, you choose from an a la carte menu and add items to any of the packages.

Smashin City's mobile unit has more expansive packages, including the "total collision," which offers a session of 120 minutes, with 350 breakables and five electronics. The unit can be booked and travel to a specific location for a private event.

Protective equipment is provided to all participants, including a mask, gloves and, if needed, coveralls. You should wear closed shoes, full coverage jeans or work pants and a long sleeve full coverage top.

The minimum age to participate is 10 and kids have to be accompanied by an adult until they are 14.

Anyone with items such as electronics, furniture or dinnerware that they want to throw out can also contact Smashin City and they will pick it up for free.
