Squankum Road Closed All Weekend In Howell
The road will be closed in both directions until 7 a.m. on Monday, March 28, officials said.
HOWELL, NJ — Starting today Squankum Road will be closed in both directions near the intersection of Waverly Place and Lanes Pond Road, New Jersey Department of Transportation officials said.
The road will be closed until 7 a.m. on Monday, March 28. The closure allows NJDOT's contractor to tear down and rebuild the existing railroad crossing and approaches.
The existing crossing will be replaced with new concrete crossings and asphalt approaches.

Waverly Place and Lanes Pond Road will remain open.

Squankum Road/CR 547 northbound detour:
• Motorists traveling on Squankum Road/CR 547 northbound will be directed to turn right onto East County Line Road/ CR526
• Turn left onto Brook Road
• Turn left on Oak Glen Road
• Turn left on Randolph Road
• Turn right on Squankum Road/CR 547
Squankum Road/CR 547 westbound detour:
• Motorists traveling on Squankum Road/CR 547 southbound will be directed to turn left onto Randolph Road.
• Turn right onto Oak Glen Road
• Turn right on Brook Road
• Turn right on East County Line Road/ CR526 back to Squankum Road/CR 547
The timing of the work is subject to change due to weather or other factors.
