Stock-up Shares of NJ Organic Food Open to Both Members and Nonmembers

HOWELL -- The Howell CSA is once again partnering with Circle Brook Farm and has stock-up shares of awesome organic veggies available for purchase by both members and nonmembers.

The veggie stock-up share will be delivered locally to a single pickup location in Howell on Nov. 23, one day before your Thanksgiving feasts.

A stock-up share includes 60 pounds of various vegetables for only $100, which is equivalent to a wholesale price.

About one third of the share will include assorted squash varieties, such as butternut, acorn and/or buttercup (Kabocha).

There will also be about 12 pounds of root crops, such as carrots, rutabaga, beets, parsnips, turnips and radishes.

In addition, there will be about 15 pounds of potatoes, including fingerling, along with onions and green and red cabbage varieties.

There will also possibly be cauliflower and Brussels sprouts too.

Potatoes, onions and squash can be stored in a cool, dry place such as an attached garage or enclosed porch where they will not freeze. Basements work well too. Root veggies and cabbage are best stored in the refrigerator.

Egg shares from this Sussex County farm are also available for this winter and spring too!

Beginning Nov. 23, organic eggs will be delivered every other week to the same Howell location. There will be 14 deliveries in all, with the last one ending on May 24.

Egg prices break down to $5 for one dozen ($70 for the season); $9 for two dozen ($126 for the season); or $13 for three dozen ($182 for the season).

The farm is requiring the Howell CSA to have a certain number of committed egg shareholders, so please sign up sooner than later so that our group meets the minimum number of orders required.
