Halloween Has Arrived In Howell: 'Trunk Or Treat' Is Thursday
A big Halloween event in Howell, Trunk Or Treat, is this Thursday, Oct. 26, starting at 5 p.m. at Soldier Memorial Park.

HOWELL, NJ — With warm, dry weather making a comeback, this year's Trunk Or Treat is shaping up to be a major community event.
"We hope it's a great event for everyone who attends," said Joanne Mandracchia, PAL's program coordinator. The Howell Police Athletic League is presenting the event.
Those attending the event at Soldier Memorial Park should be aware of advice from organizers about getting there:

Howell PAL and the township are encouraging shuttle bus use at Middle School North, starting at 4:45 p.m. The bus will bring people to Soldier Memorial Park, and will be on duty during the event if you need to get back to your car.
Vendors and families who have "trunks" for the event are already registered. The Trunk Or Treat runs to about 8 p.m., with the event finale a fireworks display.
Fecher said the general schedule is as follows:
- Beginning at 5 p.m.: Games and Activities.
- Beginning at 6 p.m.: Trunk or Treat area will open.
- Around 7:45 p.m.: Fireworks.
Howell Police Athletic League is presenting the event, along with the Howell Police Department, Howell PBA and Howell Township.
The fireworks are provided by Howell Township and were to have been used for Howell Day in September, but that event had be cancelled because of a bad storm. Rescheduling vendors and other activities for another date had not been feasible, the township said at the time.
According to the PAL, there will be contests at the event for best vendor, as well as a costume contest for kids attending the event. Categories include best group costume, best homemade costume, most original and more.
There will be a DJ on hand to add to the festivities. The park is well lit for visitors.
"We can’t wait to see you all there; don’t forget to let us know you’re coming on our event page," PAL said on its Facebook site.
