Baby Formula Thief Caught With Syringes, Drug Paraphernalia, Police Say

Dover man allegedly stole 10 cans of baby formula worth more than $200 from CVS.

A Dover man caught shoplifting baby formula from CVS was found with needles and drug paraphernalia, Jefferson Police said.

Alberto Vergara, 21, was charged with shoplifting, possession of hypodermic needle and drug paraphernalia.

According to Capt. Eric Wilsussen, Vergara was seen leaving CVS Pharmacy with 10 cans of baby formula without paying on Feb. 18. A vehicle description was given to police and Officer Chet Glazewski pulled over Vergara on Berkshire Valley Road.

The officer found the baby formula worth more than $200 inside the vehicle as well as syringes and drug paraphernalia, Wilsussen said.

Vergara was arrested and transported to the Morris County Correctional Facility in lieu of $2,500 bail.
