Biggest Loser Competition Begins Anew

This time, I'm going to work more on planning.

A new round of the has begun. I did not win round one. Congratulations to Alyson Music, who was the winner. Nice job, Alyson!

I have to admit, I pretty much gave up at the end of the last round. Things got stressful at home—welcome to being the mother of teenagers—and I let the stress get to me in the form of food.

I ended the last round of the competition having lost 6.6 pounds over seven weeks of competition. I gained 1.2 pounds during the last week.

However, this week, I got back on track. At this past weekend’s weigh-in, I’d lost 2.2 pounds. From the start, that’s a total of 8.8 pounds. I’m feeling revved up and ready to go again. I’m looking forward to the start of a new session of boot camp classes this week, and I even had a healthy Father’s Day celebration at my house on Sunday, featuring a vegetable plate appetizer, chicken breasts on the grill with barbecue sauce and salad for dinner and fresh fruit for dessert.

The CAPP Beach Biggest Losers group has a Facebook page, and one member, April, has started some great discussions. One thing she was recently really got me thinking.

April said that many people seemed to give up because it’s summer, and there are so many events, parties, generally excuses to overeat. She countered that by saying that if you plan ahead, you can fit in little extras, like ice cream or the occasional cocktail.

What I took from that is that planning is key. And that’s what I’m going to try to work on more during this round.
