Hidden Valley Ski Club was the scene, with some 60 skiers aiming to navigate the slushy snow and come away with state championships.
Three Jefferson residents participated in the meet: senior Stephanie Khoury and freshman Alexis Bishop from Jefferson High, and junior Meghan Chrobok from Pope John XXIII High School.Β
Chrobok finished the day eighth overall, with a total time of 3:35.80.

Bishop finished the day tenth overall, and made second team for the state. Her total time was 3:38.44. She will compete in the Eastern Regional Finals at Cannon Mountain in New Hampshire on March 10 - 13.Β
Conditions affected the run on Sunday, first causing a delay while officials salted the mountain to try and get the snow to refreeze. The first two runs of the day were grand slalom, while the final two were slalom. By the last slalom run, conditions had deteriorated to the point where several skiers suffered a DNF, did not finish.

"The end was tough," Khoury said. "The snow had gotten very soft by the afternoon."
