Each boy is presented with a symbolic arrow as a reminder of Cub Scouting, to remember the ideals he has learned as a Cub Scout and to remain straight and true as he grows to manhood. The arrow has a straight shaft so it will stay on the course upon which it has been set. The arrow point gives it direction, and the feathers help give it stability and help guide it on its course. The color markings indicate his advancement in Cub Scouting.
