Drunk Driver Hit Two Cop Cars, Jefferson Police Say

Police say the woman was driving the wrong way on Route 15 North.

JEFFERSON, NJ — An alleged drunk driver hit two cop cars on Route 15 Thursday night, police said.

Catherine Pansini, 34, of Lake Hopatcong, was arrested and issued several motor vehicle summons, including for driving while intoxicated and reckless driving, following the crashes, police said. According to police, Pansini was driving south on Route 15 north around 10:30 p.m., causing other drivers to call 911.

Two officers responding to the 911 calls were struck by Pansini's car, police said. No one was injured.

In addition to intoxicated and reckless driving, Pansini was also ticketed for refusing to submit to a breath test, careless driving, driving the wrong way, having an obstructed windshield, driving outside the marked lanes and not wearing a seat belt. She was released with an upcoming court date.
