Eagle Scout Spruces Up Firehouse Entrance

The Newfoundland Fire Company building’s appearance was upgraded thanks to the work of Michael Competiello, Jefferson Township’s newest Eagle Scout.

Competiello, a member of Troop 151, chose to build a garden with pavers on the front steps and around the flagpole of the firehouse.

“We had a lot of my scout meetings there from the time I was a kid,” Competiello said. “I wanted to give back to the firehouse, since I have so many memories of it.”

The honored Competiello for his achievements at its meeting on Wednesday.
