Falcon Bowling Perfection
Senior Matt Servedio throws the Falcons' and his own first ever perfect game.
Knees shaking, nerves jumping, senior Matt Servedio threw the twelfth ball of his game when the Jefferson Falcons bowled against Hopatcong last week.
βI let go and it came around nice. When the ball was about halfway down the lane, I started to cheer a little bit because I knew I had it,β he said.
That's Servedio describing the perfect game he threw against the Chiefs. It was Servedio's first perfect game, and the first perfect game in Falcon history.

Servedio said he was a little nervous in the fifth frame, when he βcrossed over.β
βI'm a lefty, so for me the ball should hit the one and two pins first,β he explained. βMy fifth frame ball hit the one and three pins first, so I was afraid then. Once I got that strike, though, I knew I had to really be on my game.β

He said his teammates were joking with him in the first couple of frames, asking him if he was finally going to get that 300. Coach (Marianne) DiRupo asked the rest of the team to leave me to myself,β Servedio recalled.
DiRupo was taking care of her bowler as well.
βI was watching him to make sure he kept to his pre-shot routine and that he was breathing to keep his heart rate down,β she said. β I was truly hoping he would do it, because he's worked so hard these past four years. I was so excited for him and his family.β
And by the wayβthe Falcons won the match against Hopatcong.
