Families Raise Money for Childhood Cancer

Alex's Lemonade Stand a success.

Jefferson resident Stacey Poulas helped her daughter Emily learn a lesson about caring, sharing and helping those in need. Emily Poulas attends The Goddard School, where the kindergarten Cclass participated in an Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation Fundraiser, fighting childhood cancer one cup at a time. Families aimed to  “fill a cup” of change for the cause while teaching children about saving for a purpose.

"This is the first time we participated in this project and it was a success," said Goddard owner Jim Freda. "Teaching children at a young age that even they are able to help others is a life lesson that we hope lasts their lifetime and encourages them to continue to give to others when the opportunity arises."

Families raised $366 in total and donated to the foundation. For more information or to hold an event, visit www.alexslemonade.org
