Civic Involvement: Cuccio was a Board of Education member from 2003 – 2006. He was the board vice president for two terms, was on the negotiation committee and the finance committee. He was involved in negotiating the supervisors’ contract.

Volunteer Involvement: Cuccio has been the president of the Jefferson Little League board. He has been on the Babe Ruth Baseball Board of Directors. He has also coached baseball, soccer and basketball.

What Cuccio Brings to the Race:  “I have experience,” Cuccio said. “I was involved in some difficult decisions during my past tenure on the board, including the one regarding privatizing the food service in district.”  Cuccio believes that this experience will allow him to spot issues and address concerns sooner than other candidates.

Cuccio’s List of the Most Important Issues Facing the Board: Cuccio believes there needs to be an improvement in the flow of information between the board and the public. He would also like to address the perceived negativity between the board and the public, and work toward changing that perception.

In addition, Cuccio wants to “promote an environment where the administration can improve the students’ educational experience.”

He would also like to see the district’s SAT scores improve, along with its standing in both Morris County and the state.

Cuccio has set up a Facebook page, Vote for Frank Cuccio for Jefferson BOE.

Over the next several days, Patch will be inviting all 11 candidates for the three available Jefferson Township Board of Education seats to participate in profiles.
