Cabin Fever Concert with Kurt Gallagher
Where/When:Β From 6 to 6:45 p.m. at theΒ Β on Friday, Feb. 25.
WhyΒ Go:Β Because it’s almost spring, and being stuck indoors is getting old. The Jefferson Public Library calls Gallagher their β€œfavorite children’s performer,” and they invite families to β€œshake, jump and wiggle those winter blues away.”

Where/When:Β Preschool story time will run from 10 to 11 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 24 at theΒ Morris County LibraryΒ in Whippany. Open story time for babies 6 months to 2 years old will run from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 25.
WhyΒ Go:Β Because your child loves stories, songs and finger plays, or because you want to get your child hooked on books early.Β

Where/When:Β BarnesΒ &Β Noble in Morris Plains.Β β€œAll About Space Storytime” begins at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 24 and aΒ β€œStorytime and Visit with Clifford” begins at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 27.
WhyΒ Go:Β Because whether your children are interested in space or love the character β€œClifford,” this could be a fun and education event.

Colonial Cooking Contest
Where/When:Β At theΒ Β in Madison on Saturday, Feb 26 at 10 a.m.
WhyΒ Go:Β If you registered by the Friday, Feb. 18 deadline, then you can participate in the Children’s and Family division that begins at 10 a.m. Families with children 12 or younger will research a historic recipe from early America and cook it for the museum’s second annual colonial cooking contest.Β 
Pricing:Β $5 to register; regular museum admission for everyone else

Classic Cartoons
Where/When:Β At theΒ Β in Morris Township beginning at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 26.
WhyΒ Go:Β Because children tend to like cartoons -- and if they’re classic enough, parents might remember them too.
Pricing:Β Free with museum admission.


Where/When:Β From noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 26 at theΒ Β in Morris Township.
WhyΒ Go:Β Because children ages 5 or older can learn about fingerprints by studying their own.
Pricing:Β Free for members, $3 per child plus museum admission for non-members.

β€œRapunzel - A Brush with Fate!”
Where/When:Β At 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. atΒ Pax Amicus Castle TheatreΒ in Budd Lake on Saturday, Feb. 26.
WhyΒ Go:Β Because β€œRapunzel” is a classic. You probably enjoyed it when you were a child, so why wouldn’t your children enjoy it too? For more information, see the Pax AmicusΒ website.

Where/When:Β From 12 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 26 at theΒ Β in Chatham.
WhyΒ Go:Β Because people of all ages can enjoy games, maple syrup snow cones, crafts, maple syrup taste tests, and tree tapping demos.
Pricing: $4

Where/When:Β From 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 27 atΒ , which runs through Boonton, Montville and Kinnelon.
WhyΒ Go:Β Because trekking through the snow could be funβ€”that is, if the snow doesn’t completely melt by the time this event starts.
Pricing:Β $10 for an educational program and snowshoe use. $3 for a snowshoe trek without snowshoe use. Preregistration is required at 973-334-3130.
