In Jefferson, Lyon Leads Nordstrom for Freeholder

Voter turnout low for primary.

In a primary election that featured no local races, voter turnout was low in Jefferson Township, with slightly more than 1,000 of the 13,197 registered voters completing ballots.

County-wide, the Republican primary race between Morris County Freeholder Margaret Nordstrom and challenger William Hank Lyon was . But Jefferson Republicans showed a preference for the challenger, 247-159.

The winner of that race will face Truscha Quatrone in November. Quatrone received 85 Jefferson votes for the freeholder seat.

In the uncontested Republican race for the state senate, Joe Pennacchio received 393 Jefferson votes. On the Democrats’ side, Wasim Khan received Jefferson 84 vote in another uncontested race.

In an uncontested General Assembly Republican primary, Alex DeCroce received 362 votes, while Republican Jay Webber received 374. Democrats Elliot Isibor and Joseph Raich received 80 and 85 votes, respectively, in their uncontested primary.
