Jefferson Township Teacher Could Be America's Favorite Teacher

Aleyna Mannerberg, Jefferson Township High School and Jefferson Township Middle School's Mathematics and Computer Science teacher is in a vote-based contest through Colossal LLC.

Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like America's Favorite Teacher, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.

The contest is called America's Favorite Teacher.

Ms. Mannerberg has held onto her 1st place position in the Group Phase of the competition for nearly the entirety of the competition.

Aleyna Mannerberg, a former Jefferson Township Public School student herself, has taught many Jefferson Township students since beginning her Jefferson Township career in 2018. She says, "As someone who teaches an elective with multiple grade levels, in multiple schools, and has differentiated and tiered classes, I follow some students through their growth as learners. I am able to see how a student learns throughout their educational experience. Seeing their positive changes and how they begin revealing their future goals within my classroom over multiple years is an experience I would not trade for any other."

The winning teacher wins:

• A 2-page spread in Reader's Digest
• $25,000
• A trip to Hawaii
• A virtual assembly for the students with Bill Nye the Science Guy.
