LHC Chair: Agreement on weed harvesting not yet signed by DEP.

The (LHC) meeting scheduled for Tuesday night has been rescheduled, according to the commission’s release.

On the agenda was a vote on an agreement to turn weed harvesting duties for the lake over to the state Department of Environmental Protection (DEP). However, according to LHC chair Russell Felter, the memorandum of understanding (MOU) has not yet been signed and delivered to the LHC.

“(DEP Commissioner) Bob Martin hasn’t signed the MOU yet and we want it to be signed before we present it to our commission for a vote,” Felter said.
