It was a night of celebrations at Thursday’s lacrosse game between and Indian Hills. It was senior night, so those in their last year celebrated along with their parents. And in a celebration of community spirit, the Lacrosse Parents’ Association raised $1,907.55 in a fundraiser for high school junior Chris Pierson. Adam Stansky, a lacrosse player, also arranged an additional $500 donation through his parents’ employers.
Pierson broke his back in a skiing accident last winter. He was paralyzed from the waist down as a result. While Pierson’s outlook is hopeful, the family is currently facing the possibility of having to make its Lake Hopatcong home wheelchair-accessible.
The final celebration of the evening came when the Falcons defeated Indian Hills 6-2, to bring their record to 6-7.
