Local Florist Honors 'Kind Hearts'

Do you know someone with a kind heart? Someone who is generous, sharing, giving? If you do, you may be able to honor them with a bouquet of flowers in a heart-shaped vase.

in Lake Hopatcong is currently running a promotion where customers can nominate someone they want to honor for doing something good or kind.

“Maybe it’s the secretary who keeps the office running, or the person who takes your mail in while you are on vacation, and you just never remember to say thank you to that person,” said Judy Castiglione, owner and one of the “three chicks.”

“You can nominate them and we will write a little note to them and send them flowers.”

The promotion started when the owners had 30 heart-shaped vases left over from last Valentine’s Day, and decided to use them to give back to the community, rather than selling them. The promotion has netted five recipients to date, with 25 vases still remaining.

“We really wanted to do this so that people will think about the people that have value in their lives, and remember to thank those people,” Castiglione said.
