Long-Term Sub Not Returning To High School Position

Bryant Annett, a long-term substitute math teacher at , will not be returning to his position for the final days of school, according to a Honeywell instant alert message sent by the school’s principal, Karl Mundi on Tuesday.

Annett began substituting at the beginning of January as a maternity leave replacement for Chelsea Holland.

Board of Education President Ron Smith said the principal and superintendent have the authority to make personnel decisions in emergent circumstances.

"The board doesn't get involved in making those personnel decisions," Smith said. "We will approve the action that took place at a future meeting."

The board's next meeting is June 18.

No reason was given for Annett's departure. "I cannot discuss any personnel decisions," Mundi said.

His letter to the parents read as follows:

Dear Parent/Guardian:

I am writing to inform you that your child’s mathematics teacher, Mr. Annett, will not be returning for the remaining days of the school year. It is my understanding that all assignments for the fourth marking period have been completed and graded by Mr. Annett.

Your child will complete the final exam review and will take their final exam under the supervision of Mrs. Gross.
