Monarque Moves to State Wrestling Quarters

152-pounder flies through pre-quarters after prelim bye.

Jefferson's Mike Monarque will compete in Saturday's NJSIAA state championship wrestling quarterfinals at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City.

Monarque (152 pounds), who earned a preliminary-round bye, beat Bordentown's Khalid Shakir, 5-2, in the pre-quarterfinal round.

Anthony Vasile (160 pounds) fell to Haddonfield's Robert Schlitt, 4-3, in the prelims.
