Car Rolls Over On Espanong Road, Trapping One Person Inside

Victim transported to Morristown Memorial Hospital via medevac helicopter.

A car rolled over on Espanong Road on Thursday night, trapping one person inside.

According to initial police investigations, Alexander Cook, 23, of Stanhope, lost control of his vehicle, causing it to overturn. Cook was trapped inside the vehicle. He was removed by Jefferson Township Fire Company No. 2 using the Jaws of Life.

Cook was transported to Fireman's Field on Route 15, where a medevac helicopter was waiting to transport him to Morristown Memorial Hospital.

Jefferson Township Fire Company No. 1 and the Jefferson Rescue Squad also responded to the accident.

The accident is still under investigation by traffic detective Steve Muller of the Jefferson Township Police. Motor vehicle summonses are still pending, police said.
