Police: We Need Your Help Finding Luring Suspect

Police are searching for a truck, possibly red with flames near the rear and tinted glass, in connection with what could be a luring incident. 

A 13-year-old girl reported being approached by a white male on Feb. 9 at about 2:40 p.m. after she got off her school bus in the Pond Hollow section of Oak Ridge, police said. She reported that the man, possibly bald and in his 40s, drove along next to her and asked her if she wanted to go for a ride, police said. She refused and the car drove away.

Police searched the area for the vehicle but were unable to find it. No incidents have been reported since.

"We've been doing safety training in the schools for many years, and I have to hand it to these kids, they listen well and know exactly what to do," said Captain Eric Wilsusen, Public Information Officer for the Jefferson police. "This girl handled the situation perfectly. She walked away from the vehicle and reported it right away."
