Preschool Inclusion Program Applications Now Available
Milton School program is free to qualified residents.

The Jefferson Township School District will be enrolling a small number of preschool children who will turn three by October 1, 2011 in a preschool inclusion program. Only those who qualify as economically disadvantaged will be accepted. In order to make this determination, we will be using the income verification. In addition, children must be toilet trained before entering the program in September. Completed preschool packets must be submitted to the Office of Special Services, at the above address, no later than Thursday, March 31, 2011. Β
This preschool experience will offer children an opportunity to learn and socialize with peers in a nurturing and meaningful learning environment. The class of up to 15 students will include those with disabilities and non-disabled peers from the community. The session is from 12:30 to 3 p.m., following the Jefferson Township Public Schoolsβ school calendar for 2011-2012.Β Classes will be Monday through Thursday and alternating Fridays.
The preschool inclusion program and transportation are being offered at no cost. The class is located at Milton School, 52 Schoolhouse Road, Oak Ridge. The school has a gym, playground, and classroom with developmentally appropriate materials. The curriculum is research-based and has proven results in promoting literacy, thinking and self-regulation skills.Β The classroom teacher is experienced and has met New Jersey standards for preschool certification.
