School Board Candidate Kerri Batche: SAT Score Improvement Is a Necessity

Occupation: real estate agent

Volunteer Experience: Batche belongs to a nonprofit theater group.

What Batche Brings to the Race:  “I am completely impervious to criticism,” Batche said. “I no longer have any children in district, so I have no special interests; I don’t lean in any particular direction.”

Batche says this will help her to make some of the tough decisions that a Board of Education must make.

Batche’s List of the Most Important Issues Facing the Board: Batche wants to see the district work on improving SAT scores.

“As a real estate agent, I know that school performance is one key thing that potential buyers look at,” she said. “I’ve been watching our SAT scores go consistently down over the past five years, and it makes Jefferson a very tough sell. And there’s no reason for this town to have this problem. I want to see it change.”

Over the next several days, Patch will be inviting all 11 candidates for the three available Jefferson Township Board of Education seats to participate in profiles.
