The current champion got the final Jeopardy question wrong, giving O’Connor the championship.
When O’Connor taped that show, it was the third one taped that day, and after that game, the contestants went to lunch. There was a definite change in the tone of the contestants at that point, she said.
“There was a totally different dynamic than there was when we were all just contestants,” O’Connor said. “It was like I was the one to beat, and people didn’t want to be around me quite as much.”
Taping resumed after lunch, and that is where our coverage will have to end—for now. Jeopardy’s rules state that contestants cannot divulge the outcome of a show until it airs, so stay tuned to Patch tomorrow for more on this story. And tune into Jeopardy on Tuesday night at 7 p.m. to catch O’Connor’s next game.
