St. Clare's Offers Children's Sleep Diagnosis Services

Saint Clare’s Health System has added pediatric sleep diagnostic services to answer what it termed "the growing need for pediatric sleep medicine in the local community."

The Center for Pediatric Sleep Medicine at the Roberta C. Ferguson Pediatric Center is a state-of-the-art diagnostic sleep center specializing in diagnosing sleep and neurological disorders in children, according to St. Clare's.

“We are thrilled to offer this new service to children and their families, answering the need for pediatric sleep medicine within the community,” Dr. Richard Finkel, medical director of the Center for Pediatric Sleep Medicine, said in a statement provided by thr hospital, “Our skilled team, made up of board-certified sleep specialists and expertly trained sleep technologists, is not only dedicated to providing expert medical care, but is committed to offering an environment and approach that is designed to meet the needs of both parents and children, offering services in a home-like environment.”

 The Center for Pediatric Sleep Medicine, located in Saint Clare’s Hospital/Denville at the Roberta C. Ferguson Pediatric Center, treats children ages 3 to 18 years of age for a range of conditions including sleep apnea, parasomnia, insomnia, and restless leg syndrome. Services offered through the Center include overnight sleep studies, home studies, and day studies to evaluate “sleepiness."

Hirsch, President and Chief Executive Officer of Saint Clare’s Health System. “We are pleased to be able to raise the level of care and capabilities we offer to our pediatric patients and their families.”

 Saint Clare’s also offers a Center for Sleep Medicine for adults, located at Saint Clare’s Hospital/Dover General, a regional leader in the treatment of sleep apnea, insomnia, and other sleep disorders.
