Students Get Tricky With Trash

Annual Trash-a-Mania event to help Chris Pierson.

For the seventeenth year in a row, trash took over the on Monday.

It was actually recycled materials that Lisa Young’s fifth grade class turned into carnival games for the annual Trash-a-Mania celebration.

Students throughout the school brought change from home to play the games, which included a ring toss and bowling, among others.

Each year the class decides a cause to support with the money. This year they chose to support the Chris Pierson Fund. Proceeds will go to help Chris Pierson, a junior and son of first grade teacher Linda Pierson. Chris was paralyzed in a skiing accident last winter.
