Things To Do At the Library

It's not just for books anymore.

As the saying goes, reading is fun-damental. And what better place to go to read than the ? But reading is hardly the only activity the library offers. There’s much more you can do there, and we have five for you today:

  1. You Can Take Out a Book: It goes without saying (but we’re saying it anyway) that the library is full of books on subjects too numerous to mention here.
  2. You Can Get Online for Free: Use the library’s bank of computers, or bring your own laptop or tablet. Internet access is free at the library.
  3. You Can Participate in an Activity: From a writers’ workshop to a knitting circle to a poetry discussion group, you can do it at the library. These groups are all free and full of like-minded people. You can do an activity you enjoy, and make new friends at the same time.
  4. You Can Learn Some Useful Information: The library offers workshops on resume writing, packing light for summer travel, and eating raw for health, just to name a few. There are all kinds of things to learn, and the library offers them for you.
  5. You Can Get the Kids Into Reading: The library offers story time groups for kids of all ages. There’s also the technology club, the drop-in craft—the list goes on and on.
