What Do Health and Horses Have in Common?

The answer is below, I think, in the latest installment of the diet diaries.

This was one of the worst weeks I’ve had in dieting history. There, I said it. Nothing like starting right off with a one-two punch.

I’m terribly disappointed in myself. So much so, in fact, that I didn’t even get weighed in this week. Honestly, I simply didn’t want to know.

In reality, I’ve been somewhat keeping track on my own scale. It weighs me in slightly higher than the official Biggest Loser scale, but it still gives me a picture. And this week, the picture wasn’t pretty. So I chose not to look at it.

Which, obviously, is not the way to do it. Making healthy choices should be sort of like horseback riding. If you get knocked off, you get right back on the horse. This past week, I let the horse get the better of me.

The final weigh-in is this coming Saturday, June 4. I would have to say that my hope of winning the competition is pretty much down the tubes. But that’s okay. I’ve learned some lessons, and taken a hard look at myself in a very public way. And it’s helped me a lot. I hope some of what I’ve had to say has helped some of you, too.
