After learning about world poverty where 95% of third world countries don't have their basic needs met, Jefferson Township's White Rock School students accepted the challenge to raise $500 for Unicef.
After a great effort, more than $1,800 was raised. This will help an entire area with school supplies and water pumps for drinking water provided by Unicef.
The students at White Rock wanted to help the local Jefferson community. Mrs. Heckenberger's fourth grade class spearheaded the food drive, placing decorated boxes in every hall and made daily annoucements. All food was donated to local food pantries.
