Who Was the Last Democrat to Run for Mayor of J-Town?

Welcome to this week's J-Town Trivia Challenge!

How well do you know Jefferson? Well enough to win some Patch swag?

Every Monday we'll ask you a question about the communityΒ Jefferson PatchΒ is proud to call home. Maybe it'll be a simple multiple-choice question. Maybe it'll be a little trickier. Maybe we'll post a historical photo of the township, and ask you to guess where it is. But whatever the challenge, it'll test your knowledge of our township.

Just post the correct answer in the comments below (you'll need a Patch account to leave a comment, if you don't have one already). The first three people with the correct answer win a Patch tote bag, magnet and pen. We'll also congratulate the winners on their hometown knowledge here on the site.

The cutoff time is Friday at noon. If you've got the correct answer by then (and three other people haven't beaten you to the punch), we'll e-mail you to find out where to send your swag.

Note: This contest is open to those 18-plus, so if you're a Jefferson young'un who wants to show off your township trivia talents, ask Mom, Dad or another responsible adult to enter on your behalf.

Good luck all! Here’s this week’s question:

Besides Horace Chamberlain, who was the last Democrat to run for Mayor of Jefferson Township?

James O’Donnell

Thomas Caslander

Howard Buesing

James Cartier

Bonus (with no multiple choice): In what year did this person run?

The fine print (which we actually run at the same size as the rest of the copy, because we're not sneaky like that):

  1. Open to legal residents of the 50 United States, the District of Columbia who are 18 and older.
  2. To enter, comment on this story with an answer to the question about Jefferson Township, as described above.
  3. All entries must be received by Jan. 13, noon, Eastern Time.
  4. You may enter once.
  5. The first three people to answer this week's question about Jefferson Township will be selected as winners.

Each winner will receive a Patch-branded tote bag and a Patch pen and magnet. Approximate combined retail value is under $15.
