12 Jersey City Students Named National Merit Semi-Finalists: See Who
Each year, an elite group of students are picked to compete for a National Merit Scholarship. Who's in the running from Jersey City?
JERSEY CITY, NJ — Each September, high-achieving high school students across the country are chosen as semifinalists for a $2,000-per-year grant for college from the National Merit Scholarship Program. Only students who do well on their PSAT test are in the running for the scholarships.
Then, next year, the group will be narrowed down based on their high school achievements and other factors.A prestigious group will be chosen as finalists for the no-strings-attached four-year scholarships.
On Wednesday, the National Merit Scholarship Board released its new list of semifinalists.
