2 Off-Duty Jersey City Cops Entered Building, Made Threats: Prosecutors
Three men are under arrest, 2 of them police, as a result of an investigation into threats and burglary in Jersey City, prosecutors said.
JERSEY CITY, NJ — Two Jersey City police officers and another man were arrested Thursday as a result of an investigation into threats and burglary in Jersey City in January, prosecutors said.

Adrian Tejada, 28, and Robert Nunez, 41 — who are Jersey City police officers — and Mario Albero, 45, were charged with various offenses, said the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office.

Tejada and Nunez, who were off-duty during the January incident, were charged with a count of burglary and three counts of terroristic threats, prosecutors said.
Alberto was charged with possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose (baseball bat), burglary, and unlawful possession of a weapon (baseball bat), said prosecutors.

Prosecutors said: "The investigation found that on Sunday, January 28, 2024, the defendants entered a private structure on Zabriskie Street in Jersey City and threatened to harm multiple individuals."
They did not elaborate.
A Jersey City police spokeswoman said that the pair have been suspended.
Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez credited the HCPO Internal Affairs Unit and the Jersey City Police Department Internal Affairs Unit with the investigation and arrests.
