2 Jersey City Police Are Suspended After Arrests By Prosecutor
The two Jersey City police who were charged with making threats are now suspended, the city confirmed.
JERSEY CITY, NJ — Two Jersey City police officers have been suspended from the force after their arrests last week on charges of making terroristic threats, and burglary.
Officers Adrian Tejada, 28, and Robert Nunez, 41, of Jersey City, and another man were arrested by the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office Thursday as a result of an investigation into threats and burglary in Jersey City in January, prosecutors said.
Tejada and Nunez, who were off-duty during the January incident, were charged with burglary and three counts of terroristic threats, prosecutors said.

Mario Alberto, 45, was charged with possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose (baseball bat), burglary, and unlawful possession of a weapon (baseball bat), said prosecutors.
Prosecutors said: "The investigation found that on Sunday, January 28, 2024, the defendants entered a private structure on Zabriskie Street in Jersey City and threatened to harm multiple individuals."

They did not elaborate.
All three men were released pending their first court appearance and plea, prosecutors said.
This week, a Jersey City police spokesperson said, "As soon as JCPD officials became aware of the incident, the two officers were placed on modified duty. As a result of the HCPO charges, they are now suspended without pay, pending the court’s outcome."
