4 Students Head To Hospital After Jersey City Bus Hits Traffic Light
Four students were taken to the hospital after a Jersey City bus crash, officials said.

JERSEY CITY, NJ — Four Jersey City students were treated at the hospital on Wednesday after their school bus crashed, said police.
The crash happened near Mercer Street and Summit Avenue around 7:50 a.m., said police spokeswoman Kimberly Wallace-Scalcione.
The crash occured when a car on Summit Avenue tried to make a left turn, and hit the bus, causing the bus to hit a traffic light, she said.
Two of the injured students were 12 and the others were 13 and 14, she said.
A 19-year-old pedestrian walking nearby suffered a leg injury, she said.

Jersey City Schools Superintendent Dr. Norma Fernandez said, “Fortunately, all the students and staff recovered and came back to school and work. One student reported to school that afternoon after being released from the hospital. The student was well and the hospital cleared him to return to school.”
