Check Out Harrison's Growing Riverbend District While Enjoying Festival On Friday

The growing Riverbend District in Harrison, in Hudson County, has train access, a river, and new housing. Friday, it'll have a festival.

HUDSON COUNTY, NJ — It's got a PATH stop, a river, and several new developments with communal amenities and activities. Could Harrison be a more affordable living alternative to Hoboken and Jersey City, with train line to Manhattan?

If you've been wanting to go for a stroll and check out the city's Riverbend District, Friday night may provide some incentive.

The Riverbend District Block Party and Artisan Market will take place from 4-9 p.m. on Sept. 27, with live jazz, crafts, food trucks, and more.

"This lively public event will take place in the outdoor pocket park at 1200 South 5th Street, promising an evening of music, dance, food, and shopping," said organizers. "Headlining the entertainment are the Riverview Jazz All-Stars and Latin ensemble Itai Kriss & La Guaracharanga, bringing a mix of soulful rhythms and energetic beats. Dance enthusiasts can join a salsa lesson with Salsa Fever On2 to get into the groove."

Artisan goods will include art, photography, jewelry, fashion, home and lifestyle accessories, beauty products, artisanal foods, pet items, and more.

Dog parents will also be able to take part in a free dog training class at 6 p.m. presented by Waggn’ Clubhouse, organizers said.

"The Block Party and Artisan Market is one of many engaging events hosted by Advance Realty Investors, the visionary developer behind the Riverbend District, and produced by Main Street Pops," organizers said.

"These events have become key to the district’s evolution into a dynamic lifestyle destination.
