JERSEY CITY, NJ — There's no shortage of things to do in this area with the winter holiday season off to a rollicking start.
Christmas and Hanukkah, the eight-day Jewish festival of lights, intersect this year, with Hanukkah running from sundown Dec. 18 through Dec. 26. Christmas, of course, is on Dec. 25, but you don’t have to wait to start taking in all the sights and sounds of the holidays.

Holiday And Light Displays
Various New Jersey towns light up their business districts, but some have a little extra. Here are some displays to catch:
Annual Camuso Christmas Display, Livingston — More than 50 years ago, toymaker Ernie Camuso set up a beloved holiday display in Livingston. Since then, the tradition has carried on. There will be Santa visits and a special event for kids with special needs. Get links to the events here.

Holiday Parades
Christmas parades — often complete with Santa Claus, festively decorated floats and marching bands — are a holiday tradition, both nationally and locally.
Several big parades are taking place this year, including the Mayor’s Annual Christmas Parade in Baltimore City, Md.; the Target Holidazzle Parade in Minneapolis; and the Christmas Boat Parade in Newport Beach, Calif.
